Wiley Roo hatched wise and intense, pecked his hatch mates, and spent his early days in plenty of trouble with his caretaker, Jess. It's a story about kindness, second chances and the love that helps us grow.

Jess wrote and illustrated this board book to share his story, and it's told the way only she could tell it: with gingham skies, rolling Oklahoma-green hills, and real-life photos of her favorite roo.

Meet the Real Wiley Roo

Wiley isn't a made-up mascot. He lives here on our farm in Haskell County, Oklahoma. He leads our flock, shares the pastures with our cows, and Jess still sings him his song in the yard: "Wiley Roo, Wiley Roo, Wiley Roo Roo Roo." When you open this book, you're meeting a real member of the Blue Mountain Farm family.
